"I purchased two tires for my 2003 FLHTI recently and the experience was excellent. After they installed the tires they took the bike for a ride and then came back. I got a little concerned when I saw the tech drive the bike back into the shop. I was thinking the worst that something was not right and maybe had to redo the job. I asked the service writer after about 10min if something was wrong and he said why,so I told him I saw my bike going back into the shop toward the back area. He said that we are going to wash your bike. I thought that was great service and had to share with the world. Thank you for great service. "

""Don, Geral and Shawn were excellent in helping me with my first Harley-Davidson purchase. I got a hold of Don via e-mail because I'm currently in Iraq finishing a 15 month tour. I was straightforward with Don and let him know I was interested in a 2004 Lava Red V-Rod at another shop. Don replied within 24 hours to answer my questions and offered himself or the Alef’s staff for my assistance. After waiting more than a week for a response from the other shop (with no reply) I called and talked to Geral and asked what for the best deal he could offer. Geral did a great job getting me all the right answers and making me a real deal on the bike, a 2006 Vivid Black Street Rod. The greatest thing about this deal is there was no stress in this transaction, I did everything over the internet and the telephone from 6,838 miles away and paid less than buying it through the other shop. " I have been a female motorcylce enthusiast for quite some
time. As a single mom and working to keep my two youngest of five headed in the right direction I have been considering using my love for motorcycles and riding as a way to keep my teenagers interest for driving and safety as "quality family time".
I have spent some long hours mulling over the idea of buying MY FIRST Harley, checking them out in magazines and pricing them. I finally got the chance to come in your wonderful store and actually check out a Harley for my hopeful winning combination of "driving tips for safety and quality time with my kids".
I have to tell you guys have it going on with 1) Your perfect location 2) Your great atmosphere of casual dress and shop til you drop 3) Accessories are abundant for any kind of Harley one would have 4) Salespeople are very gracious with the idea to allow you to shop, back off if you are looking and ask when you need help.
I had questions and your salesman took me to his computer and actually showed me the different types of bikes I was questioning. I had read up on my bikes. He had showed me a bike on the floor, I saw it on the computer in a different color, I realized I loved the one on the floor! AWESOME experience!!!

"I hadn't been on a bike since I was stationed in Japan in 1980. Also, in 2005, I was diagnosed with the big "C" and given 8 months to live. Well, having made it 24 months passed that news, I decided I was going to live forever and wanted to celebrate the moment by purchasing my dream bike, A Harley Davidson anything. I walked in to Alef's and was met by Don Walker. Don walked me around and showed me the various bikes and had me sit on one or two. Then we discussed my previous military experience and he showed me the 07 USAF Patriot Softtail, not bad.
Since I was traveling between Hawaii and Wichita, I had to delay consideration of the purchase until mid-March. While I was in Hawaii, Don stayed in contact through email. Two days after I returned to Wichita, my wife Lisa and I went to Alef's and Don had her sit on the bike. Two days after that, we returned and bought it.
I am in love with that bike (and my wife of 22 years of course). The sales, parts, and accessories staff were fantastic. I have never felt so comfortable while purchasing transportation. Now, when I am traveling, all I can think about besides my wife and kids is that beautiful ride waiting for me in Wichita. It has only been a month since I bought the bike. I am still a bit shaky when I ride but I am getting used to the feel more and more each day.
I want to thank each of you for the experience and the assistance you gave Lisa and me. If I get three more good years, believe me it will be attributed to God, Family, Friends and that wonderful 07 Harley Davidson USAF Patriot Softtail. Now, all I need is some warmer weather!

" I came in the store to buy oil, filters sparkplugs for my 02 XL1200. Seen the most unusual bike I had ever seen It was the new XL 1200 Low threw a leg over stood it up leaned it both directions . Had a big smile on my face & hollored Customer needs assistance.
Met Don Asked him questions about the bike Answerd me satisfactory . I ordered the bike, He introduced me to the parts lady We decked it out with everything I had ever wanted on a bike, within two weeks I was on my brand new 1200 Low Decked out with everything including the eletric hand grips in my favorite color, Cobalt Blue.
Everyone in this store is fantastic. They will go out of their way to make sure you are a happy customer . They make you feel like family.

"I was looking for a second Harley and visited with Don Walker about an 06 Night Train. I left drooling but no sale. About a week or to later, I recieved a call from Don were he told me about a special Alef's was having and I returned. I bought the bike and love it. "Thanks to your dealership and especially to the service department.
It was 2:00 PM Friday, July 14 I was in McPherson about an hour north of your dealership, when I noticed my rear tire needed to be replaced. I was near 3,500 miles of a 4,500+ mile trip and on my way to my Granddaughters 4 birthday. Since I had lost my voice I could not call your service department directly. I called Barbara back home in Houston, she called your dealership and after explaining my dilemma she was put in contact with Joel who stated they had a rear tire for my ’05 Ultra and would try to get it put on the same afternoon. When I arrived at Alefs Joel took personal care to see that my Ultra was soon in the shop being serviced. Not only was the tire changed, a weeks worth of bugs and dirt from 7 states had been washed from my baby and all before 5:00 PM.

"My husband, Bob and I just love coming down to Wichita to purchase motorclothes in your store. I was in there yesterday & Dan knows who I am. Bob & I saw and spoke with Dan at the Kansas State HOG Rally in Hays a couple of weekends ago. Dan has been so nice to us, he even remembered that we had our grandson with us last time we came into the store. We do not like shopping at our local dealer, we will make the 1-1/2 hour trip down to Wichita to shop. " I was in Iraq when the dealership changed hands. Before that I would have had to have been pretty hard up to even buy a quart of oil from Mid-Continent. I can't tolerate the treatment given by some of the past owners employees. I'm not a fan of the whole "dealership" thing. I want a good motorcycle and a good support system to back it up.
Which takes me back to why I wouldn't deal with Mid-Continent. While some of their employees were customer friendly, I found that alot of them weren't. If you spend $8,000.00 or $22,000.00 on a motorcyle, you should be treated like you spent 8 thousand or 22 thousand dollars on a motorcycle every time time you walk through the doors.
That didn't happen.
I went to Alefs a few days after getting back to the U.S. to satisfy my curiosity. I wanted to see if things would be better. I spoke first to a lady I took to be an employee. I told her of my past experiences with the dealership I referred to as Incontinent or Incompetent Harley Davidson. I made it clear why I was there, to see how badly they wanted me as a customer, explaining to her I would gladly travel anywhere to be treated like a customer. I didn't need to buy a new motorcycle, I was happy with my 2001 Road King, which I purchased at another dealership for all the above reasons. And if I chose to buy a new one it didn't have to be from Alefs.
As it turned out, this employee was Paula, partner in crime (joking of course!)with Dan. After hearing my story, she immediately said she had heard similar stories from other patrons and called Dan over and had me repeat my tales of woe. I wasn't rude, but I was serious. I was prepared to buy a new bike, just not sure which dealership I was gonna buy it through. He spoke to Glenn in sales and after a short discussion and a couple of test rides (Mid Continent never let me do that for some reason), My 06 Street glide was on order. Now, I know that no dealership cannot survive if they lose money on each vehicle they sell. But I was given a fair dollar for trade in on my Road King and they shot a very low price on the Glide, enough so that I was able to get the 95" tage II kit with Thunderheader exhaust and some powder coating for the front suspension.
Of course nothing is final til I have the bike in my possession. There were a few set backs due to back ordering and unavailability of some parts. It took 2 weeks longer than I was told to finally have the bike ready for pick up. Because of that Dan personally delivered the bike 50 miles to my house. He also pointed out some things he didn't like about the things that were done (nothing the dealership had done) and told me to bring the bike back first thing in the morning and the problems would be taken care of. I was given a loaner to use the next day while mine was being taken care of.
Good follow up service is what will ALWAYS bring me back. Like I said, all I want is to be treated like I just spent a $%^#@ load of money on one of their bikes. Which is exactly what I have been treated like. There have been other ways in which I have been taken care of by them also, without getting into what I spent. All I can say is I have been treated pretty crappy by dealerships through out the world (yes I said world) but I have never been treated better than by Dan, Paula, Bob, Glenn, Kieth, Red and thae other good employees of Alefs.
I got a call from my cousin last week. He had been in Tulsa looking at a new Softail. He had some questions, and since I have not been without a bike for 25 years he thought I could help. I gave him my opinions and then did something I've never been able to do in 25 years of owning and riding Harleys. I recommended a dealership that I knew would treat him right. He picks up his 06 Softail Standard in a week from Alefs.
I repeat; Iam not a big fan of corporate Harley Davidson nor of dealerships in general. But I have to say Alfes is over the top in their obvious desire to turn the only dealership in Wichita into one that actually wants a loyal customer base and prices their bikes to sell alot of them, not sell a few and make a killing off the few they do sell. Until something happens causing me to change my mind, which I don't see happening, I will continue to steer friends and family to Alefs when they want a bike or just good service.
